Well Kat, I'm finished your book!!! Darn good if I may say so myself. I read a ton of books and this one is a different ride so to speak. And I don't mean the obvious subjects such as the personal pain, surgeries etc. I mean to say that most books are usually pretty good to start off with, and then there is the usual lull. Take a true crime book for example. It's exciting for the first two or three chapters describing the crime etc. And then it's back to where the characters grew up and all that stuff! BORING! However, in your book that does not occur, and gratefully so. The book is very consistent and you have given the details in a very complete way, without reaching too deep as to inflict boredom. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and I read it in about 4 days. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but there is something about this book that made me want to put down my newspapers and get back to it! So now I don't know what's being going on these past few days. Thanks Kat!!! LOL Don G. Las Vegas, NV

January 15th 2008 Dear Katharine, (Kat) I know we have only met a few times, however when you told me you had written a book I was interested to know more about you and your “journey”, as I had always been impressed with your attitude toward your Arthritis and how you had made modifications to your life style to meet your changing needs. And now, I just wanted to put something in writing after finishing reading your book “Too Much for One Lifetime”. First of all I just want to say “WOW” you definitely picked the perfect title to such an amazing story! I will be honest, at first I thought your book was reading much like someone’s daily journal/memoirs… but I read on. As I turned each page I became unable to put this book down. The challenges you faced were just incredible! And yet you kept going. Your honesty and personal strength of character (I believe bravery and definitely humour are also included) are certainly evident in your writings. Your Mom was obviously a very special lady and I can now understand better just how much you must miss her. I believe everyone has to face some kind of challenges in their lifetime, but really … you definitely got more than your “share”. I believe this book is truly meant to be shared with others who may be facing life’s challenges associated with chronic disease/illness affecting their life. I plan to recommend this book to many people both professionally and personally, not only to support you, having taken the time to write it down, but hopefully to encourage others to find comfort in your story, knowing no matter what life hands you, a person can choose to make the most of it and like you find the “silver lining” on every dark cloud. Sincerely and Thank you, Debbie P. Vernon, BC PS I am obviously looking forward to reading the 2nd book and maybe a 3rd!!!
Dear Kat, My name is Debbie and I am a good friend of your brother - Dave. I have read your books and must tell you I look forward to more. They have given me a better insight into yours and Dave's life and the fun you had growing up. I also felt your books should be on the stands for others to read. Your concept of the rickety rocking chair telling the story took me back to when I grew up with my grandmother's rocking chair. True enough... if that rocking chair could tell the stories of the going's on, what stories it could tell. I really enjoyed your stories Kat. They will be captured by many I'm sure. Perhaps one day I will have the opportunity to meet you, I sure hope so. Debbie

Hello Kat!
My name is Kyla and I had the chance to meet you when I was sick
and had to be at Kelowna General Hospital.
I wanted to thank you for the time you spent with us and for giving me the
book Rocking Chair Rescue. I make my mommy read it to me everyday.
I have asked for more books about Davey and Kathy for Christmas.
I can't wait for more adventures, please keep them coming.

My kids came home from school today and told me about the author visit they had (Coldstream Elementary). They were really excited about meeting a real live author. I am a wanna-be writer who has done about 7 or 8 lessons of one of those mail order "You can be a children's writer" courses. Your story (on the website) is inspiring. I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was 24, but they changed the diagnoses to ploymyositis a year or two later. (Another "old woman's disease" ... usually happens to women after menopause.) Well, congratulations on your books and your growing career. God bless, and good luck. ... Karen
