International One Month After Release!

Tyler Jennens of Kelowna has returned to Merida, Mexico for the second time this year. He is part of a Community Outreach Program that teaches English to children in the rural areas.

While shopping for books to take along he came across a copy of “The Rocking Chair Rescue.”

When asked what makes this a good choice he replied, “The brightly colored pictures are what caught my eye. And the story is a good one, the kids will be able to learn something from it.”

It is well known that most children like bright colors and Tyler will use the pictures in the book to also teach the children the names of different colors. “They will point to one (a color) and ask what it is. So this is a great book for doing that,” Tyler says.

Tyler will be in Merida for the next four months. “We’ll be in some pretty remote areas but I am hoping to be able to send back some reports and pictures soon,” he told us.

We wish Tyler all the best and we look forward to hearing from him.
